Wanderlust is a open-source mobile location-aware social networking software in alpha development. The software includes a CGI server written in Python, a mobile client written in Java ME, a desktop client written in C# utilising GTK and gpsd and a few smaller Javascript and Python clients designed for very specific tasks.
The project allows users publish their own content and retrieve content published by other users in their geographic vacinity. It also operated with Google local to provide a clean search based on your GPS location. The software is also serving as an advanced prototype for Panacea and includes advanced content tranformation and routing capabilities.
The project started as final year undergraduate project by myself and Ben Murdoch-Smith. It is currently inactive, while I focus on the Panacea daemon. Further development of the pure Python server may still happen as many people won't want to run the Panacea daemon.
